The innovative £21m South Shields Transport Interchange scheme designed by The Harris Partnership has been shortlisted for this year’s North East Property award in the Design Excellence category.
The striking building is part of the £100m South Shields 365 regeneration masterplan, delivered for client Muse Developments in partnership with South Tyneside Council, and constructed by Bowmer and Kirkland Ltd.
The scheme combines new metro rail and a bus station into one facility and includes a travel shop and retail units within the flagship transport hub.
We’re proud to be nominated and can’t wait to see who wins this year.
