THP on behalf of Maple Grove Developments in collaboration with Onward Homes, have submitted plans on a vacant 5.5 acre site in Hattersley as part of a new district centre redevelopment proposal.
The proposals for the 57,000 sqft mixed-use development includes a new Aldi Foodstore, Costa Coffee café drive-thru, a terrace of eight employment units and an EV charging hub for 16 cars alongside the additional 179 visitor spaces. The scheme also includes an enhanced landscaping scheme linking into the neighbouring greenspace and pedestrian links, utilising materials and design all in keeping with the local architectural vernacular.
Located at the intersection of Stockport Road and Ashworth Lane, the site has been earmarked by Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council for the development of a new district centre to serve local residents.
Subject to the application securing approval, the development could make a start on site in spring 2024.
