Cheshire Oaks Leisure opens its first BREEAM ‘excellent’ Hotel / January, 2013

The Harris Partnership has been working with Legal & General Property to provide The Coliseum’s first hotel development which opened in August 2012.

The hotel and restaurant project adjacent to the Prezzo restaurant and existing Cinema complex, comprises a 77-bedroom timber framed hotel over five storeys, with two restaurants on the ground floor, with a material palette to blend in with the strong brand of the existing park.

The scheme forms the final piece in the overall redevelopment of the Cheshire Oaks Coliseum Leisure Park which has been ongoing in excess of five years, and aims to be the first BREEAM ‘excellent’ Travelodge in the UK.

The Hotel’s unique location offers visitors a stay within the heart of the shopping and leisure parks and bookings have already been flooding in over the summer months. The hotel will be an ideal base for visitors to the North West and will mean customers have a wide choice of places to relax, eat, drink and shop.

Lee Brewer, Associate Director comments: ‘It has been a real design team effort alongside PDR Construction, and Peter and Mike from our Manchester Office have had to undertake significant challenges in an attempt to achieve the eagerly awaited confirmation of the BREEAM ‘excellent’ accreditation, no mean achievement in this sector’.

Cheshire Oaks is Travelodge’s 514th Hotel in the UK.
