Revised plans for the redevelopment of a site opposite Hillsborough Stadium used as a car park on Sheffield Wednesday match days are recommended for approval this week.
Jaguar Estates, supported by DLP Planning and The Harris Partnership, submitted a full planning application to Sheffield City Council earlier this year for a 12.1-acre site bounded by Penistone Road, Herries Road and Herries Road South.
Planning permission is sought for the demolition of the existing buildings on the land and construction of nine commercial units. The proposed mixed-use development would include a 20,440 sq ft Aldi store, as well as a gym, three storage and distribution units, two drive-thru restaurants, a builders’ merchant and a vehicle maintenance unit. The new units are expected to support job creation in the area, as well as short term employment during construction.
