After years of discussions with the Local Authority, and numerous planning applications, a difficult office and residential scheme is close to hitting site in Clapham, London.
The site is being brought forward by the Oakapple Group of Companies, with The Harris Partnership’s Reading office providing the planning, construction and fit out designs.
The six storey scheme, including basement parking and servicing, occupies a constrained site adjacent to a railway viaduct and surrounded by existing residential properties.
The 8,000 sq.ft office will provide new and improved modern accommodation for the sites existing tenant, Kone Lifts, with 20 parking spaces and 40 contemporary apartments from first floor. The building encompasses a contemporary approach using traditional materials and boasts very good green credentials, with 20% on site renewable energy generation.
Almost all pre-commencement planning conditions have now been discharged, with work on site anticipated in May 2014.
