Plans have been lodged for new 18,000 sqft new food storer in Northwich.
Designed by The Harris Partnership on behalf of landowner Rothstone Estates, the new M&S store is proposed on Leicester Street on the site of a former council owned depot.
The plans seek to make the most efficient use of the site and to complement the neighbouring buildings, using a modern style with a simple palette of materials.
In addition to the new building, the landscaping proposals from Smeeden Foreman look to support biodiversity by maintaining where possible existing trees and vegetation and integrating a SUD feature to the south of the site which creates a varied habitat at different times of the year whilst enhancing sustainability.
If approved this project will mark a return to the town for M&S, after a six year absence and will create 70 jobs.
A planning decision is expected later this year.
