Planning approval has been granted for a pair of large warehouse units that could support the creation of hundreds of jobs in South Yorkshire.
Two new industrial units measuring 84,000 sqft and 105,000 sqft to the North of the existing Capitol Park scheme, adjacent to Higham Lane in Dodworth have been granted approval.
The units for client Sterling Capitol, will be built suitable for class B2 (industrial) and class B8 (storage and distribution), and feature ancillary office space as well as associated car parking, service areas and landscaping.
The reserved matters application was submitted to Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council last year and was granted approval on Tuesday (13 June 2023), subject to conditions.
It has been estimated that a development of the site for B2 use could create about 464 jobs while the development for B8 uses would create about 217 jobs once operational. Roles would also be created during construction.
