Coffee lovers in Chester can drink their espressos on the move following completion of Costa Coffee’s new drive through at Deva Retail Park for which the practice provided design and project management services.
The coffee giant chose a novel way to mark the opening of the 1,980 sq. ft unit by inviting local jockey, Craig Ellingham and locally trained racehorse, Rocketball as the first customers.
The scheme is located on a principle corner of Deva Retail Park adjacent to large areas of landscaping. According to Architect, Oliver Clark, careful planning was required in orientation to maximise visibility whilst preserving generous landscape areas.
The practice is no stranger to the Costa Coffee brand, having provided designs and planning application assistance for half a dozen outlets. This project reflects the brand’s contemporary style by incorporating a high quality cladding tile system that flows continuously over the façade and roof area as a single form, and utilises large areas of recessed glazing.
