Helping Inspire the Next Generation / June, 2026

For over four decades, we’ve been passionate about inspiring the next generation to consider a career in the built environment.

As part of that commitment, one of our Group Directors, Ian Perrell, recently worked with Pearson on a series of educational films designed to help students understand how the subjects they study can lead to rewarding careers. The films have now been released as teaching resources for schools across the UK.

Filmed at our Southwark Urban Logistics project, Ian features in two videos that demonstrate the breadth of skills required to bring buildings to life.

The first, produced as part of Pearson’s Creative Minds, Brighter Futures campaign, explores the importance of creativity in architecture and how projects evolve from an initial idea into a deliverable building.

The second forms part of Pearson’s Your Future in Maths campaign and highlights the critical role mathematics plays throughout the design process, showing how numerical skills help transform concepts into buildings that have a positive impact on communities and the wider economy.

Ian said: “Choosing a career when you’re young can feel like a huge decision. I was fortunate to know I wanted to do something creative, and it was through the encouragement of one of my tutors that I discovered architecture. The rest is history.

Being able to work with Pearson on these films and hopefully inspire the next generation is something I’m really proud of. If they help even a few students see how what they’re learning in the classroom can open the door to a career in architecture and the built environment, they’ll have been worthwhile.”
