Ground has broken on the major 282,000 sqft expansion of Cummins’ manufacturing campus in Darlington, with work now underway by GMI Construction Group.
The development, will support Cummins’ continued growth in the North East, by expanding its logistics and operational capabilities and strengthening its long-standing presence in the region.
The design links the new building directly to Cummins’ existing manufacturing and office campus and will feature a high bay storage facility, ancillary office accommodation, extensive service yard facilities and supporting infrastructure designed to improve efficiency and future flexibility.
THP are providing architectural services on the project, working alongside HPM as CDM consultants, the scheme is a great example of the value of The Harris Partnership’s multidisciplinary approach. By combining integrated services, the team has worked closely with the client to deliver a high-quality, fit-for-purpose facility that meets the needs of not just the business today but the Cummins of the future.
