Templars Shopping Park refurbishment / June, 2012

Templars Shopping Park in Cowley, near Oxford is undergoing significant refurbishment works involving the development of a new public landscaped piazza, and the creation of three new café/restaurant units, and we have provided the design and planning application work for this latest tranche of redevelopment. This includes alterations to the Eastern elevations to complement previous renovation, and the division of Unit One comprising 60.000 sq. ft into four separate units with an extension to the West which will accommodate three eateries. Parking facilities have also been boosted with the re-arrangement of the car park to provide DDA standard parking spaces and parent and child spaces adjacent to the renovated shopfronts. The plans also allow for the provision of secure space for an additional 28 bicycles.

Gary Humphreys, who heads up the Milton Keynes office comments: “It has proved a challenging project due to the historical significance of the wall, part of which has been moved, but we have worked very closely with Oxford City Council to ensure that all relevant criteria has been met. When complete, the new look Templars will be an uplifting environment that blends an historic past with a modern feel, ideal for twenty-first century retail.”
