Stockport Interchange is an award winner. Last Friday at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester Place North West crowned a scheme we worked on Infrastructure Project of the year award.
The £140m scheme, one of the biggest single transport projects outside of London, was a true result of collaboration between ourselves, Transport for Greater Manchester, Willmott Dixon, Greater Manchester Combined Authority, STOCKPORT METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL, Stockport Mayoral Development Corporation, Cityheart and Rise Homes to name just a few of the partners involved.
Commenting on the award win, our Group Director Carl Braim said: “This award is a testament to the quality of Stockport Interchange, a project which transcends simply being a transport hub and focused on infrastructure regeneration which created new opportunities for homes and to improve biodiversity within the town through the creation of a new roof top park.
“It’s our hope that the approach we’ve taken here to utilise the roof space of Stockport Interchange can be an exemplar for the sector and that perhaps most importantly, the new Viaduct Park can become a space for residents and visitors to enjoy, an oasis within the town centre.”
