The long awaited public art injenction to the £20M development of Thornaby Town centre has been finally revealed.
The 3.5m diameter sphere constructed from blown stainless steel pillows has been installed on top of the new St Peters Square market cafe. The sculpture, commissioned by Thornfield Properties through well known artist Stephen Newby, will form the centre piece of the new public realm works.
The final phases of the district centre redevelopment project are due for completion in August 2009.
