The Manchester office is working with Real Estate Development Partnerships (RED Partnerships) to bring forward an £18 million manufacturing and retail scheme in Darwen, Lancashire.
Plans for the ambitious project which has been commissioned by Lucite International, a manufacturer of acrylic based products, have recently been presented to the public as part of the consultation process, with revisions made following constructive feedback. The development will include the creation of a major research and development facility for Lucite, a 25,000 sq. ft food store, and the relocation of local business, Equipe Tyre & Autocentre into purpose-built premises.
The planning application will be presented to Blackburn with Darwen Council in mid-October.
Chris Murren from the Manchester office comments: “We’ve taken on board some very positive comments from the general public and local traders, and have made some changes to the plans including the introduction of additional landscaping and the preservation of on-street parking bays. The result is a modern scheme that will brighten up the area, improve the surrounding infrastructure and contribute to the regeneration endeavours of Darwen. It represents a significant investment into Darwen by one of the largest employers in the area.”
