Planning has been secured for the refurbishment and extension of one of Yorkshire’s best known office locations, No.1 The Embankment, on behalf of German real estate services company Patrizia.
Occupying a key location on the southern gateway to Leeds City Centre at the apex of Neville Street and Sovereign Street, the consent allows for an expansion of the net internal area from 49,000sqft to 60,000 sq.ft. of Grade A office accommodation. The redevelopment proposals for No.1 The Embankment designed by The Harris Partnership also include new glass enclosed third and fifth floors alongside a facelift to modernise the appearance of the entire building.
The building was acquired by Patrizia, in January this year following the decision by KPMG to relocate to Sovereign Square after 25 years at No1 The Embankment. The project is being managed by JL with works expected to start in the New Year.
