A new Debenhams store at Ravenside Retail Park in Chesterfield designed by the Wakefield office has opened its doors.
The new store formed part of redevelopment plans for the 65,000 sq. ft retail park which lies to the South of the town centre and is owed by Land Securities. The new Debenhams incorporates 32,000 sq. ft of space across two floors and is adjacent to a newly constructed 4,000 sq. ft unit, also brought forward by the practice which has recently become occupied by Maplins.
Senior Architectural Technician, Paul Welch, comments: “A household name like Debenhams is great news for the park and will significantly increase its appeal to shoppers. The design treatment boasts both brickwork and cladding panels along with large areas of curtain walling enabling the new store to seamlessly blend with its surroundings, whilst conveying its own strong identity.”
