Construction work has started on site on the first phase of Haribo’s new production facility at Normanton, Junction 31 off the M62 after an official launch of the project.
The Practice has obtained planning consent for 760,000sqft, including a 150,000sqft high bay warehouse.
The £35m first phase provides three levels of production in a bespoke concrete framed building plus 35,000sqft of staff and office accommodation.
Wates have been appointed to undertake the project which is expected to complete in Spring 2015.

We have been working on the project for 3 years to get to this point and it represents a major feather in the Practice’s cap.
He adds “Our experience in the food production sector has grown over recent years with projects for Warburton and Prince’s Foods and I can see tremendous potential in this sector”
An official launch and sod cutting ceremony was held on the 10th October with Secretary of State, Vince Cable attending a major media event on site.
