Cinema Completes at £140m Northamptonshire Development / March, 2019

Works have completed on the new 14-screen cinema at Rushden Lakes in the Nene Valley, East Northamptonshire, one of the largest retail and leisure developments currently underway in the UK.

Part of the phase two leisure terrace designed by The Harris Partnership with developer LXB Properties for The Crown Estate, works are also progressing on associated leisure elements which include 11 new restaurants, five leisure units and climbing wall. In addition to the Cineworld cinema which is due to open this summer, the leisure terrace will be home to major brands including TGI Fridays, Zizzi, Five Guys and Chiquito.

The Harris Partnership were initially engaged to evolve the design for the leisure terrace, to maintain its sensitive integration within the local context and establish a sense of place within Rushden. The firm has since increased its involvement in various future phases to include the Garden Square and Link Road masterplan proposals for the Rushden Lakes site.
