Concorde Business Park near Manchester airport has received a boost following the completion of a unique and revolutionary “Café pod” which will provide the development’s occupiers with an attractive place to have lunch and hold informal meetings.
The pod has been designed by Manchester-based architects, The Harris Partnership, and it will be operated by an ambitious coffee house tenant. The practice is keen to repeat the unique “pod” recipe on other office or retail parks where eating facilities are limited and where developers and park owners aim to raise the park profile with incentives for their staff or customers alike.
The pod was constructed using a steel frame design with blockwork walls internally and high quality timber / kingspan cladding externally with aluminium glazing framing the entrance.
Darren Till of the Harris Partnership comments: “This is a very forward thinking concept which offers amazing potential. Its cutting edge design rivals anything on the high street in terms of its ambience and overall appeal, and it will enable customers to enjoy good quality food and refreshments in prestigious surroundings without having to resort to their cars. It’s a clear enhancement for the park.”
Concorde Office Park is owned by UBS Global Asset Management, and boasts five prestigious office buildings and is set in landscaped fully maintained grounds.
