A flagship supermarket proposal designed by The Harris Partnership has been unanimously approved by The Regulatory Panel of South Ayrshire Council.
The application for Sainsbury’s by real estate investment company LXB forms part of the first phase of the 155-acre mixed-use development at Corton in South East Ayrshire where the supermarket will boast a restaurant, petrol filling station, over 600 parking spaces and recycling facilities and is expected to generate up to 400 jobs.
The application includes for initial infrastructure to facilitate wider development at Corton as the first multi-million pound phase of a wider South East Ayr Development Masterplan to deliver a new sustainable community of 2,700 homes over the next 30 years.
