CDM Advisor/ Principal Designer – Wakefield / March, 2020

Harris Project Management (HPM)(established 2001) are the sister company to The Harris Partnership Limited and are a specialist firm of project managers, quantity surveyors and CDM consultants providing services and advice under the CDM 2015 regulations.

HPM maintain good communication with project design teams to embed effective health & safety risk management from an early design stage through to building use and occupation. HPM are currently appointed on over 100 construction/ refurbishment/ fit out projects throughout the UK and are looking for an enthusiastic person with CDM expertise to join the team.

The role will involve:

  • Carrying out all principal designer duties under the CDM Regulations and advising Clients of their duties
  • Visiting construction sites and carrying out CDM site audits
  • Attending pre-construction and construction phase design team meetings
  • Producing PD meeting reports and audit reports
  • Chairing hazard review workshops with designers
  • Assisting designers with hazard identification and elimination
  • Producing and distributing Pre-Construction Information documents
  • Reviewing Construction Phase Plans
  • Producing Health and Safety Files

Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following qualities / qualifications:

Essential

  • Knowledge and experience of the CDM Regulations
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • A smart, enthusiastic and professional demeanour
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience as a Designer

Desirable but not essential

  • Design related degree or similar
  • APS member
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or NEBOSH Diploma)

Negotiable salary depending on experience and qualifications
